This is how I have been filing and polishing clock pivots. Often times there is no easy way to chuck a wheel in the lathe. This method has proven to be so fast to set up that I use it almost exclusively now.

I have a cuckoo clock that stops after about 6 hours, would you recommend burnishing the pivots. It works with out the pendulum but only for 6 with the pendulum. Whats a good way to burnish the holes, or is the brass soft enough that I don’t have to do it, and the holes will become too large? Thanks.
