Platten tooling – great ! Much less to go wrong. In this case though I would have designed he block and chosen different tools so that the spindle didn’t keep having to change direction – saves strain on the motor and drive.
This machine is great for small part massive quantity orders saving tool change time. On some of these you can change the entire tooling plate making job changeover faster. You have less moving parts for less crap to break down too. Dual turret is good but programming is a lot more difficult. For greater versatility a slant bed lathe with a turret is better, also allows you to use a tailstock.
am i the only one that hates this kind of machine? :/
