I take a “jewelry” class, with a Miller 175 MIG, cool torches, and a baby… tiny Unimat 3 Micro Lathe, this is how i got interested
Hey thanks. That made my day.
But you still can watch the videos and learn from them.
I guess it is the next best thing
I wish you were my applied arts teacher Mr Basso…!
Our school is one of the largest and oldest shops around. I hope that the powers that be recognize this. 15,000 sq feet and over 40 machines. It truly is set up for trades training rather than applied skills. Regardless, it has not been shut down and that is a blessing. I keep my fingers crossed hoping that It will always remain that way, even after I have left.
thanks for watching
I have just installed to large lathes in the last couple of years.
They are both 21x60inches. The last lathe I got was a used kingston lathe (mazak copy) It had been sitting in the warehouse unused for most of its life. It is like new.
The big machines I designate for machinist training. In the wrong hands they can kill.
thanks for watching
you are so lucky to have all that kit at your school!, especially a welding bay, we just have 2 lathe’s, 1 of which is broken, so we cant really do much advanced metalworking. Its really annoying because i need to do just that for my project!
Just started a new job where I new to some times use a metal lathe, I was trained at college but that was over 16 years ago, thank you for this video. I now have the information needed.
Could you do a video showing the different tools that can be used on the lathe?
Yup, I know.
This is for highschool students and I have eliminated one step to obtain the same desired effects.
PS.
I am a machinist.
thanks for watching
Thank you
So…Canadian…and awesome…Thanks!
Good Video.Thanks Man
