industrial lathes are boring their way into american hearts!

Boring is machining a hole in a piece held by the chuck. Usually a drill is placed in the tail stock and a hole is machined in the part held by Head stock chuck, then a boring bar is placed on the carriage and moved till the bar makes contact with the small hole made by the drill, then it is moved side wise in small increments to in large the hole the the size needed. Always remember to wear safety glasses in all of these operations.
